Care for your hiking & outdoor footwear
Hiking and mountain boots go through a lot: mud, water, dust, rocks, and changing temperatures. With the right care, your boots stay comfortable, water-repellent, and reliable for longer—whether you’re out for a short walk or heading into the mountains.
The right product for your materials
Not every boot needs the same care. Leather, nubuck, suede, and modern membrane boots all require the right cleaner and protection. We’re happy to help you choose the correct care product based on the material and how you use your boots.
Clean, condition, and protect
Good care starts with cleaning. After that, you can nourish leather or nubuck with wax or conditioner, and protect your boots with a suitable waterproofing spray or treatment. This helps them stay water-repellent, dry better, and prevents drying or cracking.
Laces and small parts
Worn laces are a common cause of irritation on the trail. That’s why we stock laces in different lengths, thicknesses, and styles—suited for hiking and mountain boots. You can also come to us for other small boot essentials.
Insoles for comfort and support
The right insoles can make a big difference on longer walks. We offer various types of insoles and
orthotic inserts—from comfortable universal options to more supportive models for extra stability and reduced fatigue.
5 simple care tips
1) Let your boots dry naturally
Dry them at room temperature with the tongue open and the insoles removed. Avoid radiators or heaters to prevent the material and adhesives from drying out.
2) Clean before you treat
Brush off sand and mud, and use a cleaner when needed. Wax and waterproofing products work best on clean materials.
3) Use the right treatment for the material
Choose a suitable product for leather, nubuck/suede, or membrane boots. This keeps them water-repellent and flexible for longer.
4) Check laces and hardware
Worn laces or damaged eyelets/hooks can cause problems on the trail. Replace laces in time and check small parts regularly.
5) Remove your insoles after use
Especially after wet days—let them air out and dry separately. It reduces moisture buildup and helps your boots last longer.
