Fourth generation shoemakers

The first generation of Stultiens shoemakers dates back to 1859. Sjang Stultiens started a shoemaker's shop on Verlengde Beekstraat and later on Nazerethsteeg. His son Frans had a shoemaker's shop on Suffolkweg around 1930 and later on Basin, where he also opened a shoe shop in addition to the shoe shop. Jan, Frans's son, born in 1934, continued the tradition and also had a shoe shop and shoe shop on Verlengde Beekstraat.

Founder Federico, a fourth-generation entrepreneur, started in his parents' garage in 1986. He was 17 at the time, the youngest entrepreneur in the industry. Two years later, he moved to the Limburg Laan shopping center, and 10 years later, he opened his business on Beekstraat. His passion for the trade was instilled at a young age, as a twelve-year-old boy, he could regularly be found working with his father in the shoemaker's shop. This year (2026), they are celebrating the company's 40th anniversary.

Federico thoroughly enjoys his work and loves a challenge. Repairs don't always have to be easy. He enjoys using specialized techniques and was the first in the Netherlands to be certified Premium Shoemaker and Authorized Climbing Cobbler by Vibram. Since May 2023, he has been a La Sportiva Authorized Resoler, of which there are only two in the Benelux and number 44 in Europe. Since July 2024, he has also been a Scarpa Authorized Resoler, of which there are also only two in the Benelux. Federico values quality and craftsmanship highly, and he works exclusively with high-quality products.

In 2007, Nicole joined the team at Schoenmakerij Stultiens. Over the years, she has become an indispensable part of the company.

Nicole supports Federico throughout the entire process of repairing climbing shoes, mountaineering boots and other outdoor footwear. She mainly takes care of the preparatory work, administration, customer contact and communication with customers from the Netherlands and abroad.

She also keeps an overview in the workshop and carries out the final check before the shoes are returned to the customer. With her careful way of working, commitment and eye for detail, Nicole ensures that every repair is followed up with care.

Together, Federico and Nicole form a strong team where craftsmanship, quality and personal service are at the heart of everything they do.
